Dr. Musa and Suhaila Nasir Pediatric Cancer Department
The department was opened in February 2019 after four years of fundraising and construction, it is the first and only pediatric oncology department for children in the Gaza Strip. Prior to the opening, every child in Gaza with cancer had to travel outside - often away from his or her family - for care. The new department has 16 rooms and 14 out-patient beds, as well as a playroom, lab, pharmacy, and many other amenities that were not found before in any hospital in Gaza. PCRF also provides tutoring for children during their stay in the department and many other child-life services. This is the first and only hospital in Gaza that provides such care for sick children.
